ALfheim Online Review

If you think that SAO is bad, wait untill you get a load of this shit. Alfehim Online is a light novel, written by the same author as SAO. But,instead of having SAO’s “fight for life” theme, we have the ultra-cheesy “save the princess ”theme. So, will this sequel be bad, or VERY bad? Let’s find out here.

After the battle against heathcliff, Kirito, and many of the survivors of SAO, logged out. But stangely enough, 160 players were still trapped in the “Nervegear”, giving no sight of life. One of them was Asuna. Egil (the bar-tender) saw a snapshot of a girl that looked like asuna, trapped in another VMMORPG, Alfehim Online (ALO). So Kirito buys the game (hopefully with Adblock this time), and logs in. The game was about.... fairies. One of the groups is called the Salamander, Asuna is called “Titania” and maybe some other detail that I skipped. What does this remind me about...?

-Unfortunately, ALO’s “Titania” is not as “packed” as the original one. Such a shame...

Kirito has all his stats, all his items (which he discards so he doesn’t get caught) and the little girl he used with Asuna to play families, although now she is a navigation pixie, which reminds me...

-I swear, ALO wins the prize for the least original anime of 2012
He saves a girl called Leafa from some Salamanders who were bullying her (PK is actually recommended in this game), and befriends Kirito. Meanwhile, Kirigaya Suguha, who is Kazuto’s sister (cousin, to be more accurate) is also playing a VMMORPG game. Which one do you think? Alfheim...motherf***ing... ONLINE! And she is Leafa. And not to add more crap to this, SHE IS IN LOVE WITH KAZUTO, and tells Kirito about it. I’m not going to be the one to judge, but isn’t that considered incest? Seeing that Japan is crazy enough to have a 13 year age of consent, they probably have no laws against marriage between cousins... ok, back to the story.
So, Kirito is joined by Leafa, they find a way to get into the world tree, and he is able to find Asuna. Then, the asshole shows up: The one that makes Kayaba look like an angel. Sugou Noburyuki, alias Oberon. Disgusting greedy rapist and kidnapper would be the best terms to describe him. It is thanks to him, that this crap EVEN EXISTS!
Kirito is getting pummeled by the game master, until he logs in with Heathcliff’s ID, which granted Kirito all of the GM’s powers, (did he even get the password?)  he gets Oberon’s lv to 1 and... This happens.

-I would’ve made him lv 1 and immortal. So he could feel infinite pain >:D

After that, Kirito logs out and goes to meet Asuna IRL, when he meets Sugou, with a knife, trying to kill him. The pic will explain everything.

-FINISH HIM!!! :D

But no, kirito lets him live, and meets Asuna for the first time IRL. Sugou went to jail btw, and for a while, VMMO’s were doomed, until Kazuto gave to the internet: THE SEED!! *dramatic music*
The seed was just the ability to create a VMMO. So wait, everyone became a programmer al of a sudden? And how do you mourn the 3963 victims of SAO? BY REPLAYING SAO!!! WHAAAT??? IT’S LIKE PEOPLE MOURN THE VICTIMS OF CHERNOBYL BY BUILDING ANOTHER NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IN THE SAME AREA!!
Personal opinion: I completely disliked this series. The theme it was built was not a strong one, the game itself lacked consistency, the relationships between the characters was horrible (incest FTW), and the ending, just left me speechless. The good side was that the battles were interesting (having a 3 dimensional fighting arena makes it much better), and the satisfaction you get when Kirito cuts Oberon is amazing.
-Inconsistent theme
-weak game
-horrible relationships
---- INCEST!
- Terrible ending
+good fighting scenes
+awesome satisfaction of killing Oberon
Final rating: 4/10
Do you think this anime should’ve never existed in the history of anime & manga? Let us know in the comments. J
